Speech title: Phase-transition fixturing based on MRF: principle, technology and application

Biography: Haibo Liu, is professor and Ph.D. supervisor of school of mechanical engineering at Dalian University of Technology (DUT), China. He received his B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from DLUT, in 2006 and 2012, respectively. He is IEEE member, ASME member, senior member of Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering. He has served as the Guest Editor of the Frontiers in Mechanical Engineering, Frontiers in Materials and China Measurement & Testing Technology, and deputy secretary general of the SAC/TC22 International Standardization Working Committee.

His main research interests include, Measurement-machining integrated manufacturing, On-machine measurement, Phase-change fixturing based adaptive machining, Industrial-robot aided manufacturing. He has published over 80 peer-reviewed SCI/EI journal papers like International Journal of Machine Tools and Manufacture, International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, and IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronic, and over 100 authorized or pending patents. He holds over 20 major projects, including National Natural Science Foundation of China, the sub-project of the Science Challenge Project, the sub-projects of the National Key Research and Development Program and National Science and Technology Major Project of China, etc. He is the recipient of the 1st prize for Liaoning Science and Technology Progress Award (twice), the 1st prize for Science and Technology Progress Award of China Machinery Industry Federation. He was awarded the Young Changjiang Scholars Program of the Ministry of Education in 2022 and the Liaoning Provincial Outstanding Youth Fund Program in 2020.

Biography: Prof. Yajun Liu was born on September 20, 1974 in Jiangxi, China. Native speaker of Chinese, fluent in English. His Education and Academic Research Experiences is as follows:

December, 2016- Now Professor in South China University of Technology School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering.

December, 2009- December, 2010. Visiting Professor in Fluid Power Research Center (FPRC) Purdue University at West Lafayette, USA. Feb, 2005 – July, 2016. Post-doctoral Research Fellow, Tokheim JV company in China.

June, 2002 Ph. D. in Mechanical Engineering. South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, China.

His research interests include Digital signal processing technology and its application in mechanical systems (such as hydraulic System for Energy Saving.); Intelligence control and Manufacturing Engineering. Moreover, Prof. Yajun Liu has published more than 250 papers in Journals and proceedings of international conferences. 35+ patents on Mechanical System design and manufacturing.

Speech title: Research on acoustic emission intelligent monitoring in grinding engineering ceramics

Biography: Prof. Li GUO graduated PhD from Xi'an Jiaotong University, China in 1994. Now he is a professor of Hunan University, China. He had been a researcher and visiting scholar in Liverpool John Moore University and University of Nottingham of the United Kingdom for 2 years. In 2014, he was a visiting scholar at the University of Michigan, USA. He has mainly done research on intelligent monitoring of grinding acoustic emission, high-speed precision grinding, precision machine tool dynamic and hydrostatic bearing spindles, and published more than 90 academic papers in Journals.

Biography: Elammaran Jayamani is an Associate professor of Mechanical Engineering at Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus, Malaysia. A creative educator for over 23 years, promoting sustainable materials research and development. Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering specializing in Materials and Processes with expertise in Learning and Teaching, Research and scholarship, and Leadership and service. Well-versed in training and mentoring students, research scholars, and educators. He has completed his Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching (Higher Education) at the Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia. He is a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers - Chartered Engineer (CEng) MIMechE (U.K.). Life member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (MISTE) India, International Professional Engineering (IntPE) U.K. His main research areas include Polymer matrix composite materials, Energy and Environmental sustainability, and Learning and Teaching. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed Scopus Indexed International journal papers, 30 conference proceedings, and 35 book chapters. Also received several national, international, Educational, and Industrial funds and grants. He has presented his research at various national and international conferences and received the best paper and presentation awards. He also gave online national and international webinars on Sustainable materials and Manufacturing, Climate change, and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs).
